Date & Time : Wednesday, August 12, 2020, 2 pm 4. Venue :Room 412, Building 2 5. Abstract Superhydrophobic surfaces have been extensively studied for their uniquelow water adhesion. However, surface robustness and manufacturing difficultiesare barriers to widespread use of superhydrophobic surfaces. In this study, asimple and fast surface modification of short-pulse laser-textured surface isdeveloped for a robust superhydrophobic surface. Normally, short-pulselaser-textured surfaces can become superhydrophobic, but require toxic chemicalcoating, prolonged aging in air, or heat treatment for several hours. In ourmethod, with only 10 minutes of heat treatment with non-toxic silicone oil, thenanosecond-pulse laser-textured stainless steel surface becomessuperhydrophobic and shows good robustness. 6.
