1. Title : MolecularTransportation Phenomena of Simple Liquids through Carbon Nanotube 2. Speaker :KaziEhsanul Karim (Advisor : Prof. BoHungKim) 3. Date & Time : Wednesday, August 5, 2020, 2 pm 4. Venue :Room 409, Building 2 5. Abstract In this research, we investigated pressure-driven flow characteristicsof simple liquid in carbon nanotube using non-equilibrium molecular dynamics(NEMD). Discretecharacteristics of a molecular system for defining approximate flow-boundary in contrast to continuum description are the key focus pointshere. We ensured ergodic hypothesis and enough scale of the average to retrieve theclassical thermodynamic properties.Local density, pressure and viscosity in the bulk region are in well-agreementwith continuum description. However, our results show substantiallydifferent physics from classical fluid transport theories in the interfaceregion because of the interface force field, discreteness of fluid molecules atthe interface, velocity slip and interface viscosity.
